RetroGrade AI ("RetroGrade", "we", "our" or "us") is an AI-powered Vedic astrology product operated by Jothishi. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, mobile experience and services (together, the "Services"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Services you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

• Account & contact details: your name, mobile number, and (when you sign in with Google) email address and profile picture.
• Birth details: date, exact time and place of birth. These are essential for generating your Vedic birth chart and personalised readings.
• Chat content: the questions you ask and the answers we generate, plus any feedback you send.
• Payment details: when you buy questions, our payment partner (Razorpay) processes your card / UPI / netbanking data. We only receive a transaction ID, amount, and status — we never see or store full card numbers.
• Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and interactions with the app, collected via cookies and standard analytics.

2. How we use your information

• To calculate your birth chart and generate personalised astrology answers.
• To operate, secure, debug and improve the Services.
• To process purchases, deliver purchased questions, and issue receipts.
• To send transactional messages (OTPs, purchase confirmations, service updates).
• To detect abuse, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal bases

We process your data to perform our contract with you (delivering readings you request), based on your consent (where required, e.g. for OTP delivery and cookies), to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in running and improving a safe, useful product.

4. AI processing

Your questions and relevant birth-chart data are sent to third-party AI model providers (including Google Gemini and other providers via Lovable AI Gateway) to generate answers. These providers process the data as our sub-processors and are contractually restricted from using it to train their models on your personal content.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Infrastructure providers hosting the app and database (e.g. Supabase, Cloudflare).
• Payment processors (Razorpay) for completing transactions.
• Communication providers (MSG91 / equivalent) for sending OTPs and notifications.
• Analytics providers (e.g. Google Analytics) to understand product usage.
• Law enforcement or regulators when required by valid legal process.

6. Data retention

We keep your account, birth details and chat history for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with tax, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements. You can request deletion at any time (see section 8).

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit (HTTPS), row-level access controls, hashed credentials, and least-privilege server access — to protect your data. No online service is 100% secure; you use the Services at your own risk.

8. Your rights

• Access, correct or export the personal data we hold about you.
• Delete your account and associated birth details and chats.
• Withdraw consent for optional processing (e.g. marketing) at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Our infrastructure and AI providers operate globally. By using RetroGrade you consent to your data being processed in countries outside your own, subject to appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
